Few things are more important to the long term success of your credit union than making sure that you are developing the knowledge, skills and abilities of those who will lead it in the future.

Defining what succession planning is and what it isn’t for your credit union is step one. From there we will explore alternative pathways to developing the capacity of your team so that future leaders will emerge prepared to step up and guide the credit union when the time comes. Special attention will be paid to the application of these approaches to your board of directors.

Participants in this session will learn:

  • The three things your credit union must do to create an effective succession plan for board and staff;
  • How to design, develop, and implement a capacity development program that creates the future leaders your credit union will need; and
  • How to overcome the common obstacles and objections that arise when implanting a succession plan for board and staff members.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:  CEO/management, board members and HR professionals.

SPEAKER: Dr. Michael Hudson has been a credit union member for almost 50 years (since he was 3 months old!) In the past 8 years he has spoken for over three quarters of the credit union Leagues in the country—sharing his messages on strategy, leadership and culture. He is known for challenging his audiences to think in new ways, providing them with practical actions that they can take to produce measurable results and nudging them to take action.
